What is a Data Layer and why is it important?

A data layer is a JavaScript object that is used to pass information from your website to the Google Tag Manager container.

It’s particularly useful to organize the tracking data throughout the whole purchase journey, from the visit and scroll to add_to_cart and purchase_event.

DataLayer is essential to see effectiveness of your marketing campaigns, user behaviour by different traffic sources and getting detailed conversion data.

What is a server-side tracking and why is it important?

Server side tracking is a new way to track actions that your website visitors take by sending that info to a cloud server instead of a browser.

Server side tracking enables 3rd party cookies to be converted to 1st party cookies, thus:
– more precise tracking of events
– access to a more comprehensive data (more user data could be passed)
– FB conversion API works smoother and may gather more user data, thus campaigns attribute better audience in
conversion campaigns etc.

It’s great tool to get more accurate data into GA4, Google Ads and Facebook conversion API.

– more precise analytics data at GA4

We use Data Studio to pull in data analytics from multipe sources into very easy to use and read dashboard.

If you want to get data from Ad platforms like Meta Ads, Connectors are needed that cost 40-100 USD/month.  All fees go to connector software developer (e.g. 1 FB ad account – 3 FB ad accounts,
Linkedin account etc.)

How many conversion events are included?
In all setup packages, up to 7 conversion events are included. Additional conversions are billed at $75/event rate.

What happens to my existing Google Analytics account after July 1, 2023?

After July 1, 2023, businesses that have not migrated to Google Analytics 4 will no longer have access to their historical data in the old version. This means that you will lose valuable insights about your website visitors, which is detrimental to your business success.
